So I stopped by the local antique store to pick up more perches for my bird houses. I've been having a hard time finding the Tim Holtz hitches so I used my version. Apparently these were used as collar buttons. I found metal, shell, and wood ones! I guess that means more birdhouses! :) I also found old eyelets too!
Oh how adorable!!! I want some too- where did you find them? Just an antique store... what does that exactly mean? Can I find them in the hardware store??? email me the info!
ReplyDeletehey Sue! yeah a small antique store in my hometown. I am sure that any antique store with buttons and stuff will have them. I don't think you can get them at a hardware store b/c these were used to hold down men's collars on their shirts. I don't think they've made them for awhile. I bet you might find something at the hardware store that will work if you can't find some at antique store (you kinda hafta dig). P.S. you can just use some of mine too at our retreat!
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck are antique stores??? When I think of old stuff, I think of Goodwill, but I know that's not what you are talking about. I will check the White Pages for antique stores around here and see what I find.
ReplyDeletewhoa whoa whoah. you dont know what an antique store is?? I live for them!!! They have a bunch of antique stores in madison! They are stores that have really old items..some over 100 years old. There used to be an antique store right by scrapbook superstore. i pick up a lot of my embellishments from antiques stores...
