Gobble Gobble!

Every year I am in charge of the Turkey Day place cards. I was inspired by a magazine picture of wine corks that were made into turkey place cards. I, however, decided to put my own spin on them using my favorite things: Champagne and Cupcakes! I just happen to have 8 champagne corks (what a lush) for round and plump little turkey bodies and I happen to have cupcake liners in every color! I whipped out my hot glue gun and the googley eyes and went to town!  The magazine showed toothpicks, but I tried that and decided to go with some decorative pins after I broke the toothpick trying to jam it in the cork.  The flags were made from a banner die cut which was folded and glued around the pin. These actually are really easy and fast to make! Thanks for looking!

I would recommend using a different size corks-as they give the turkeys personality! The cupcake liners were folded and glued together first and then attached to the turkey body.  Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

ScrapFest 2013

ScrapFest 2013 was amazing! Here is a view of Tim Holtz's class from the 2nd floor.
My annual Scrappin buddy Pam!

One of my quick layouts that I did this weekend..

I used a LC diecut to cut the hotel paper into a journaling piece!

Archivers in the Mall of America was stock full of new products!
I waited in line for an hour and a half at the October Afternoon Warehouse sale.  I must say it was a zoo but totally worth it! Packs of paper (still in the shrink wrap), 25 sheets for 5$!
Long lines at checkout at the warehouse but it was so much fun!

I think the Lawn Fawn Company was a fan favorite. They used mason jar stamps with the matching die cut.  Cards were made with the jar upside down and right side up and with candycorn and a tree setting!  Cute product and presentation!

Me at the end of the weekend-hours on my feet waiting to do countless make n' takes made me need a little R and R! :)

Love Letter Ampersand

Take all those love letters and use them to decorate and personalize your space!
Run those love letters in the copy machine so you have a flimsy version of the notes. Then cut out small sections (of your favorite parts :) ).  Take your modge podge and adhere your sections on your ampersand/letter (just like decoupage). It doesn't have to be perfect as you will take a razor to trim up the excess paper after you have covered the shape.  After it dries overnight-feel free to sand the edges so it looks more polished and crisp!
This is a great way to personalize your space and add a touch of romance! :)

Grande Mocha Please!

I've been scrapping! :)  Remember to save anything you can that is made out of paper to add to your scrapbook- i.e. coffee sleeves, wrappers with logos, anything sort of flat you can fit in your book!

I used my coffee sleeve as the bottom border, brown glitter (yes they make that!), ribbon, Jolees embellies, and my quickutz nesting dies, and my new little date stamper!  Thanks for looking!

Christmas in July

As promised-my Christmas card from last year (sorry for the delayed entry!).  I found this little Eiffel Tower die and it was just too perfect!  I used the little bow from a QK wreath die.  I did a photo shoot with my little kitty-she delivered her grumpy face as requested! :) Her backdrop was a Paris Map and her hat was custom made from The Crafty Maven downtown Faribault, MN.  This card was pretty simple to make-especially when I needed 25!

Shake Your Bon Bon :)

One of my favorite cards using the QK retired bon bon and Lifestyle Crafts scalloped circle.  I love the way I can customize the little bon bon liner. Great to use coordinating papers! I used my natural colored ribbon tape to accent and give  my card a little dimension. Thanks for looking!

Seattle Scrapping

Started the Seattle book last night! I printed off my Instagrams from my Walgreens App-I am liking the 4 x 4 size!  Stickers and paper is from October Afternoon. I found the space needle die while I was in Seattle!
I found these cute little wooden accents at Archivers! The gum wall smelled minty! :)  I've been scrapping a lot but haven't posted much-so I will try to change that! I have a new apartment with a new scrapping studio so  I won't have any excuses to keep my blog updated!
