Breakfast!

Bookworm

I love to collect unique pieces on my travels to add to my pages. I used a small shopping bag and cut it up to add a personalized touch.

On this European trip...

This background is a vintage atlas page…adorned with arrows and fun papers. :)

Off to the Netherlands, Belgium, and Dublin on my next journey.

Inspired by Italian Food...

A little Sugar helps the Medicine Go Down...

Just a little "Get Well Soon!" card.  I fell in love with this Lawn Fawn Stamp set.  I stamped on white paper and layered on orange for the Rx bottle.  I pop dotted them up and used my qk die for a background and side banner.  Thanks for looking!

Pearls, Bows, and Glitter

Whipped up this little sweetie for a friend.  "Thank You" die cut is from Cottage Cuts and doily is a QK die cut.  Just picked up this mason jar paper and it was too tempting to cut them out! :) I found out an easy way to add a thick layer of glitter---a gluestick! Who would have thought! Thanks for looking!

Cigars Anyone?

My brother, Pat, is getting married and he asked me to help him label his cigars in a way that he could ask his friends to be in his wedding. Their wedding is burlap/barn/vintage themed so I used burlap paper that I edged with a scalloped scissors.  I printed off the sayings and punched them out with my scallop circle punch. I wrapped these puppies around the cigars and there you have it!  I hope all his friends said "yes!".  :)

Inspired in Italy

Walking the streets of Italy-I peeked into this storefront of this artist's studio.  I found it a beautiful mess-kind of like my scrapbooking studio! :)

Beautiful chalk art on the streets of Florence.  How did they do that??

Couldn't be more PERFECT!

Bittersweet that Archiver's is closed, but I was able to buy and bring home a piece of it that I will have forever. My own Archiver's workshop table!!! Lots of memories with this table-as an employee and as a customer!

Organizing with Flare

This was inspired by Pinterest, but with my own twist.  It started with a mountain of paperwork that needed to be dealt with.  I saw binders like this on Pinterest and decided I had nothing to lose, but the clutter.  I organized that mountain into categories and then decided how many binders I would need.  At Walmart they have very cheap binders on sale right now.  This project looks complex but it is VERY simple to do.  It took me about an hour.  I picked out some paper for 9 or 10 binders and used my die cuts to label them.  All you need are binders, straight edge cutter, and font (wether that be stickers or die cuts).  Get organized! It made me feel great when I was done! :) I dare you to try it.

Europe: Round Two

Never can have too many Thank You Cards!

I made nine of these puppies today.  I am loving this Archiver's exclusive stamp and die jar set, very simple yet sweet!

Very sad to see Archiver's is closing all of their stores. Silver lining is that I bought one of their heavy duty workshop tables for my studio!!!! Yay!

Word on the street is that October Afternoon is opening up a regular scrapbook store in MN. DREAMY!

Gobble Gobble!

Every year I am in charge of the Turkey Day place cards. I was inspired by a magazine picture of wine corks that were made into turkey place cards. I, however, decided to put my own spin on them using my favorite things: Champagne and Cupcakes! I just happen to have 8 champagne corks (what a lush) for round and plump little turkey bodies and I happen to have cupcake liners in every color! I whipped out my hot glue gun and the googley eyes and went to town!  The magazine showed toothpicks, but I tried that and decided to go with some decorative pins after I broke the toothpick trying to jam it in the cork.  The flags were made from a banner die cut which was folded and glued around the pin. These actually are really easy and fast to make! Thanks for looking!

I would recommend using a different size corks-as they give the turkeys personality! The cupcake liners were folded and glued together first and then attached to the turkey body.  Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

ScrapFest 2013

ScrapFest 2013 was amazing! Here is a view of Tim Holtz's class from the 2nd floor.
My annual Scrappin buddy Pam!

One of my quick layouts that I did this weekend..

I used a LC diecut to cut the hotel paper into a journaling piece!

Archivers in the Mall of America was stock full of new products!
I waited in line for an hour and a half at the October Afternoon Warehouse sale.  I must say it was a zoo but totally worth it! Packs of paper (still in the shrink wrap), 25 sheets for 5$!
Long lines at checkout at the warehouse but it was so much fun!

I think the Lawn Fawn Company was a fan favorite. They used mason jar stamps with the matching die cut.  Cards were made with the jar upside down and right side up and with candycorn and a tree setting!  Cute product and presentation!

Me at the end of the weekend-hours on my feet waiting to do countless make n' takes made me need a little R and R! :)
